PROFIT SOLUTIONS - RAPID CASE CONSTRUCTION WITH GERO SASSENBERG

Over 60 people joined Delmac at our Greensboro facility March 6 and 7th, 2008 for our Profit Solutions Seminar on rapid case construction through doweling. Gero Sassenberg, a well known authority on modern case construction, focused on why more and more cabinet makers are moving from Screws and dado to dowel and case clamp construction. He explained that when using traditional methods, the average cabinet takes 3-5 minutes to build, and quality is left in the hands of the assembler. Employing the latest in machinery technology, build time can be compressed to one minute or less and quality is a function of engineering and the equipment! Bill Weddington, Owner of Contractor Millwork Services, Inc. shared his experience changing over to Dowel and Case Clamp construction, explaining how he has reduced labor while increasing production. Materials were donated by ATC Panels, Hafele, Franklin Adhesives and Canplast. Over 20 base and wall cabinets were built and donated to Habitat for Humanity’s RESTORE. See images below
