Mayer Panel Saw
FH2 Veneer Cutting Saw
The FH2 model is available in 10, 12, and 14 foot cutting lengths.
The standard equipment consists of a saw carriage guided by high-precision
linear guides, planning unit, front supporting table, dust extractor
hose for connection to an extraction system, and parallel fence with
magnetic length measuring system.
Mayer has over 30 years experience of building a popular range of veneer
saws. The range was redesigned in 2001 to take advantage of newer technology
such as « star » linear guidance systems for an easier and
more precise movement of the carriage and « siko » magnetic
tape measuring for incremental and absolute positioning of the fence.
The frequency controlled planning motor has a power of
1.5 hp. The joint knife head is fitted with 4 reversible cutters and
has a diameter of 3.375”.
The planning unit to re-cut the edges is raised pneumatically
on an extremely precise linear guidance and lowered again when the cut
has been completed. This guarantees an optimal cutting result, even
for dry and brittle veneers such as oak.
Method of operation :
The positioning fence is moved by a conveniently placed handle from
the front of the machine and the dimension is displayed via an electronic
digital readout. The fence is locked and unlocked by a pneumatic cylinder
with push button
control.
A stack of veneer is placed beneath the beam and pushed up to the stop
cams on the positioning fence. The beam is lowered to firmly clamp the
veneer and the carriage is then manually pulled through the veneer to
trim and create a jointed edge. The planing head can be selected for
an extra fine finish or turned off if not required. The front support
table is mounted on slides and is pulled out when using the planing
head.
Parallel fence with linear guidance, pneumatic clamping and recessed
veneer stops, operating range .75 – 23.625”. The magnetic
length measuring systems simplifies adjustment by providing good readability
and functions such as absolute/incremental measurement
