Genesis

The “Genesis Evolution” Numerical Control has been specially studied for managing the axes and boring and routing machine functions for the woodworking sector. The numerical control programming editor, developed on a 32 bit platform, offers a simple operating environment based on graphical windows, for the display and insertion of data for making working programs to be run on the machine.

The main features are:
- CAD integrated in the control
with mirroring, rotation, repetition functions, etc.
- Operator interface in various languages
- “Multitasking” operating system for using the control even when the machine is working
- Graphical display of the 6 workable faces
- 2D and 3D display of the piece being worked
- Parametric programming which permits the use of mathematical, trigonometric, inverse trigonometric and logical formula and the use of 300 variables.
- Programming on horizontal, vertical faces and fictitious faces which can be rotated, very helpful for when using aggregates.
- Programming of single, multiple (for multi-bit tools), fitting drills on flat and lateral faces
- Programming of linear, circular, oval and ellipse routings on the three Cartesian axes
- Linear and circular interpolations on the three planes, linear in space, circular in a plane however orientated.
- Chamfer and connection programming with automatic speed control
- Programming of grooving and routing always orientated with respect to the vertical axis
- Programming of tool radius with automatic correction
- Possibility of excluding the display of some types of machining
- Multi-level zoom function
- Conditioned programming (IF/EndIF Blocks) associated with the use of Macros
- Absolute or incremental programming
- Creating of sub-programs by the operator with the possibility of multiplication, mirroring and rotation of the above
- Up to 10,000 program lines (expandable) are programmable
- Graphical help during programming for all machinings
- On line help
- Customer can personalize error messages
- Easy identification of stored programs using “preview” function
- Archiving of programs with names up to 256 characters long
- In line recall of the machine set-up and tool specifications
- Management of up to 500 tools
- Graphical display of set up or tool changers
- Tool graphical archive with the possibility of parameterizing up to 9000 different types of tools
- Pocket cycle in defined planes
- Execution of single programs and repetition of program lists
- Tool path optimizer with the possibility of choosing the working priority prior to moving
- Built-in oscilloscope capable of monitoring the logical input/output status and the dynamic axes’ parameters
- Visualization of the rpm and absorbed current of the aggregates and spindle
- Importation of dwg and dxf files in ASCI format
- Importation or files from previous Busellato CNC versions (Genesis, Winner90, CNC 90)
- Importation of ISO text files
- Printing of ISO codes and graphical print of the work piece being programmed
- Bar code interface
- Calculation of time required for program execution
- Manual and machine diagnostic functions in real time with graphic help
- “Hold’ function associated with safety mats
- Management and diagnostic synoptics which makes using the machine easier
- Automatic reduction of the feed speed in relation to the inverter’s absorption
- Program list management
- Automatic control of the working speed to optimize the routing path.

Graphical environment for set up of the panel supports and vacuum cups. The program allows simultaneous viewing of the pieces to be machined and the work bed complete with panel supports and vacuum cups actually on the machine. This allows optimal positioning of the work bed elements so as to guarantee a correct hold of the piece without there being any interference between the clamping devices and the working tool. At the end of this operation the system gives a series of information which enables the corresponding positioning to be carried out, either manually (on the basis of metric scales or digital displays) or automatically, for machines which are pre-arranged for this function.

A feature called "Synoptics" is available for common procedures and displaying messages. This feature consists of a graphic interface and "hotspots" that are clicked on with a mouse. Because pictures of the machines are displayed here, it is very easy to learn to use. The hotspots indicate shortcuts to diagnostic procedures, axis movement controls, spindle/inverter controls, etc. This greatly streamlines procedures that were commonly done manually in the past. Examples include changing tools, lubricating the drill spindle head(s), and routine maintenance tasks. The message backgrounds in "Synoptics" are color-coded to indicate if the message is an instruction, a confirmation, a warning, or an error.

Pod placement software is now standard for all Busellato machines. This is a great feature for setting up complicated parts on the machine which have lots of curves or cutouts. This software works in conjunction with Busellato's Automatic Pod Positioning feature in which a sensor attached to the machine head scans the position of the pods and repositions them based on the setup indicated by the software program. This repositioning of the pods takes about a minute.

Conditional logic statements can be included within programs, if desired. These statements allow the user to use elements of the program to control the process. For example, the user can use this feature to automatically put a third set of shelf holes in an end panel if the width is greater than 600 mm.

The List Manager (Automatic Mode) is very dynamic. With parts that are parametrically programmed, the length, width, and thickness of the program can be changed in the List Manager without changing the original program. The part can then be run with the correct dimensional information without changing the original program or saving the altered program. Bar coding can also convey this information and easily allow one program to parametrically control any panel size that would normally be used. This same feature is present for variables. Variables can be changed on the fly, never changing the original stored program unless desired.

The actual and theoretical run time of each part is displayed in the List Manager as well, allowing the time spent machining each part to be calculated. These results are visible as the parts are processed and updated in real time. If a Feed Speed is manually reduced by the potentiometer on the control panel, this change is reflected in the time displayed.

All vital parameters utilized in Genesis can and should be protected by user-defined password(s). These are items that should be modified or utilized only by trained individuals.
